I bought these weights because I wanted something that was a reasonable price, easy to grip, accurate weight, and vinyl coated. ( don’t like the feel of metal. These fit the bill. Also, I took them to my physical therapist was impressed with them too.

Overall good design
I love the idea of adjustable weights — they are both space and weight efficient for people that need to move around a lot (like college students). These are overall wonderful for an effective workout – it’s pretty easy to adjust weights in the middle of a move. There are things that do impact the comfort though: because of the protruding nature of the attached weights, some moves do feel a bit awkward and clumsy to do, and not as easy as regular dumbbells. And because of the plasticky slippery outer shape of the dumbbells, they are also sometimes not as easy for moves such as overhead triceps extensions, when it’s ideal to have two weights sticking overhead together.

I got these because I’ve been trying out pilates at home and the other weights I have are too heavy for some of the pilates moves that use teeny tiny muscles. They’re brilliantly designed and very easy to use! They don’t take up a lot of space and I love being able to quickly adjust the weights for different exercises. The only downside is that the handle gets very slippery because of the plastic material especially if you have sweaty hands, but you can just put some grip tape or something similar to fix that.

Convenient and easy to use! Swapping the weights around is super simple, and each plate is 0.5 lb, so it’s easy to build up gradually. You can also stack up to 8 lbs on one, which is great for adding a little more challenge. The soft rubber handles are comfortable to grip.
