    Perfect!
used this to get heat away from my ECM in my engine bay (its ON the head) so i made a spacer with this and Bakelite, wrapped the Bakelite on this tape and now my ECM could practically hold ice! this reflects heat very well! so i imagine for wrapping applications like intakes or other engine bay spots this would be such a great option to consider! this is alot of tape for a cheap price AND its good? worth every penny! definitely will be buying again in the future!

    Sticks well
Tape sticks well. Love the colour. Unsure how effective it actually is as an insulation. I like it

Seems to help with cooler intake temperatures.
I installed this on a 2006 Chevy Malibu SS with a 3.9 l. The throttle body is on the driver side, and the air intake is on the passenger side, so there’s an intake tube that needs to run all the way across the engine to the throttle body. With the intake tube being made out of plastic, it’s just sucking up all the heat from the engine. It’s noticeable when you’re in stop and go traffic, and then the traffic clears up and you can drive, it just feels sluggish sometimes. After installing this, the car just feels like it has more pep, it feels like you’re driving with a cooler running engine. It sticks okay, you want to make sure whatever you’re putting it on you clean it thoroughly. I clean the intake tube with rubbing alcohol twice, just to make sure there was no residue left from the dressing I use on the plastics under the hood. And to determine how much I needed, I taped one end to the start point and then wrapped it without removing the paper all the way around the pipe as far as I wanted to go added a few more inches and then cut it. It just makes it easier to deal with instead of trying to deal with the entire role. The adhesive could be a tad bit better I believe, it is sticking, there were a spot here and there where it was coming up, I just use some clear Scotch tape, and that held it down. There’s a couple flexible areas in the intake tube, I wrapped around those also, it’s just a little loose so it can still move around. And this is supposed to be good all the way up to 350° c or 662° f. I wish the tape would lay down better, and look a little bit smoother, but it’s doing the job I needed it to.

  4. Keithan Still

Pretty nice it dropped my intake temps about 28 degrees
Long enough to cover the entire dual stillen gen 3 cold air intake piping with about 2 feet to spare

Wrap carefully or the sticky backing will start to peel back.
Looks great however the sticky backing is not as strong as i thought. There are some sections starting to peel away which i have to wrap again with force in order to make it stick again.Other than that its “working” fine and hopefully will repel heat as intended.

  6. Gage Morton

    Works as intended.
The size of the roll you get is totally worth the money, depending on what you’re installing it on.. it’s super easy to cut 1”—3” pieces and apply with a slight overlap. Works well to keep temperatures down and is also pretty thick and durable.

  7. Malachi Garcia

This product works great and sticks well
This product worked exactly as intended with fast shipping and no complaints

  9. Enjoylife

Great fun to use. But the edges of the tape lifted up from piping and tubing after spirited driving, most likely from heat. I used aluminium tape to wrap over the gold tape.I did some rudimentary testing on aluminium piping with a temperature probe against the inner pipe wall with no layer, 1 layer and 2 layers of this tape applied to the outside pipe wall. Hot air source: Bosch heat gun set to 100 degrees centigrade for 4minutes, at same distance from pipe. Piping was allowed to cool to ambient (approximately 22.8 to 25 degrees centigrade) after each test. With no layer, it took 52 seconds to reach 60oC with 67.3oC @ 4minutes. With 1 layer, it took 65 seconds to reach 60oC with 65.1oC @ 4min. With 2 layers, it took 120 seconds to reach 60oC with 60.7oC @ 4min.Personal ‘guesstimation’ -As mentioned by another reviewer, this product likely increases the time it takes for whatever you are wrapping to heat up from surrounding heat sources, and possibly reduces the plateau/equilibrium temperature that the wrapped object might reach during operation. As per rudimentary test, more layers are better but law of diminishing returns apply; it’s up to you to work out the optimal number of layers in consideration of time, effort, weight, material costs and other relevant constraints for your purpose. Most likely unsuitable as a substitute for proper exhaust wraps designed for direct application to exhaust manifolds, turbocharger turbine housings or wastegate outlets, unless ‘living on the edge’ is your life motto.Edit: added a bit more text and increased my rating as it’s held up despite the beating it received under the car’s bonnet during a drive on a hot >35oC day we’ve just had. Great value for money.

bought a few rolls and covered my engine bay with it, as installed a turbo and wanted to keep my original paint safe.
